Dell enhances consumer experience with new customer solutions

Dell today announced its collaboration with Seventymm and Healthhiway to offer customer solutions in the area of entertainment and healthcare and respectively on its range of Inspiron and XPS laptops and desktops. Reiterating its commitment to serve customers with the power of technology, this association with Healthhiway and Seventymm.com allows Dell to offer customers solutions that enable them to balance the demands of home and family while enjoying both a healthy and entertaining lifestyle.

Recognizing the need for people to have simpler, faster access to their favorite content, Dell has also incorporated Dell Stage, the new user interface software that resides on the Windows operating system and is being preloaded on all Dell consumer laptops and desktops. Dell Stage was first introduced late last year on the Dell Streak 5-inch Android based tablet and later on the Android smartphone Venue. Dell Stage equipped devices provide a single interface for customers to access photos, videos, music, documents and other personal content easily. Students, parents, mobile professionals alike view their laptops or desktops as gateways to the content they love, and Dell Stage revolutionizes the way people organize, access and share this content in a way that is uniquely Dell.

With its association with Seventymm, India’s largest online movie rental service, Dell brings entertainment closer to customers with access to over 20,000 original movies DVDs and VCDs in 18 languages across genres. A free four week subscription, (renewable upon expiry) exclusively for Dell customers, free home delivery and pick-up, and no due dates or late fees, brings the latest entertainment into people’s living rooms.

The Healthhiway solution offers customers the ability to maintain web based, secure Personal Health Records (PHR) through PHR HealthConnect™. PHR HealthConnect acts as a central repository for a user’s health information in an easily accessible, secure space. It allows the user to create, receive, review, maintain and share records of their medical history, medications or health condition easily with their family members, healthcare providers, insurers and even employers.

Dell consumers can avail of their very own Healthhiway PHR free of cost for up to six months, after which the service can be renewed. Users can also access specific tools to manage a host of health conditions, from tracking blood pressure to monitoring weight loss; these tools store and chart readings letting users take an active role in monitoring their health and well-being through the health record.

Commenting on the solutions, Mr. Mahesh Bhalla, Executive Director & General Manager, Consumer and SMB, Dell India said, “Today, more than ever, people are looking at using technology as an extra set of hands – one that helps them stay entertained, connected and healthy. Equipped with Dell Stage, the Dell Inspiron and XPS range of laptops and desktops provide a single interface that is quick and easy to use. Dell is poised to transform the way it connects with customers and deliver more value added services through our association with companies like Healthhiway and Seventymm, which enables customers with the power to do more.”

Mr. Saurabh Gupta, VP – Sales and Marketing, Healthhiway added, “Though there is no shortage of public information about health conditions, medications, even online chat with a doctor, there is a shortage of authentic and secure ways of interaction with one’s own care provider, be it in a hospital or an individual clinic. PHR HealthConnect is an open platform that helps customers fulfill that need while enabling hospitals and other providers to have a customer-centric delivery model. We believe that this is a dawn of a new model of Healthcare delivery where the consumer is in control. We are happy to collaborate with Dell as one of our exclusive partners and offer our health record service to customers buying Dell Notebooks and Desktops.”

Commenting on the tie-up, Bhawna Agarwal, Chief Operating Officer, Seventymm said, “We all know movies are a religion in India. We are excited to partner with one of the largest technological corporations in the world to provide its customers this unique gratification. We hope it will be a mutually rewarding association as customers will be able to order their favorite DVDs and watch them from the comfort of their homes free of cost for a month.”
