Sony selects XCode(TM) 3106 media processor for VAIO All-In-One desktop
ViXS Systems Inc., a leading developer of video processing solutions, today announced that XCode(TM) 3106 media processor has been selected by Sony for both the R and L Series of VAIO All-In-One Desktop PCs. The XCode 3106 will transcode secure HD MPEG2 broadcast content for burning Blu-ray High Definition AVC disks.

The XCode(TM) 3106 is a member of the XCode(TM) 3000 series of ICs, the world’s most advanced MPEG4 AVC (MPEG4 Part 10/H.264) Transcoder/Encoder IC. It features real-time HD MPEG2 a HD MPEG4 AVC transcoding with bit rate and resolution reduction, while retaining the original content resolution at the highest video quality possible. The XCode(TM) 3106 was selected for the latest VAIO Series for its ability to transcode secure digital broadcast stream (MPEG2), to burn Blu-Ray Discs (AVC, AVC HD).
