Samsung launches 6 new Android powered Galaxy series of Smartphones

Samsung Electronics, the leading mobile phone provider in India today announced the launch of the much awaited Nexus S smartphone in the Indian market.
Developed in partnership with GoogleTM, Nexus S is powered by Gingerbread ( AndroidTM 2.3).It is the first handset from Samsung Mobile with a 4″ Super clear Curved LCD screen and Near Field Communication (NFC) technology .With the launch of Nexus S and 5 new Galaxy Smart phones based on the Android 2.2 platform - Galaxy Pro, Ace, Fit, Pop, Galaxy Pop CDMA, Samsung today offers the largest range of Android powered smart.

Announcing the new launches, Mr. Ranjit Yadav, Country Head, Samsung Mobile and IT said, “The slew of launches on the Android platform represents our commitment to deliver a ’smarter’, simpler and more intuitive smart phone experience to our consumers. Our entire smart phone strategy hinges on providing consumers with a seamlessly connected experience while at work, home or on the go.” Designed with an ergonomic fit and style, the Nexus S, is the first handset from Samsung Mobile to be equipped with a 4″ super clear Curved LCD screen and offers premium viewing experience. Nexus S comes pre-installed with the best of Google apps, such as Google Search(tm), Google Maps(tm) with Navigation, YouTube(tm), Google Earth(tm), Gmail(tm), Mobile Instant and more. Nexus S also features Near Field Communication (NFC), technology which allows users to read information from nearby tags that are embedded with NFC chips. The Nexus S also includes popular Android features such as portable Wi-Fi hotspot, true multitasking and access to over 150,000 apps and widgets on Android Market(tm).

Powered with a 1 Ghz mega processor, the Nexus S provides powerful multi-media and gaming experience with brilliant 3D graphics. With Android 2.3, users can enjoy hi-speed application downloads and watch HD video content with instant access. The handset also provides high speed connectivity options, internet calling (VoIP/SIP) support. Galaxy Pro, the newest addition to Samsung’s Android portfolio boasts of 2.8″ display with Touch and QWERTY and operates on Android 2.2 platform. Built to provide advanced Messaging features the phone has a wide QWERTY keyboard for easy texting, one step navigation control and allows the user to easily view, open and edit office documents through the ThinkFree office feature. The Social Hub feature, which is common to all Galaxy phones is an integrated phonebook with SNS, IM , e-mail features with which users can quickly access all the contacts, events from mobile, PC and social networking sites. The handset also enjoys advanced exchange Active sync and a 3MP camera. The 800 Mhz processor of the Galaxy Pro ensures fast performance and speedy content delivery. The Samsung GALAXY Fit (S5670) comes with a 3.31″QVGA TFT display, Android 2.2 ; optimized user interface with Touchwiz 3.0, hybrid widgets and a 5MP camera. Equipped with a 600 Mhz processor with 3D accelerator, easy connectivity with HSDPA 7.2, the phone delivers high performance .It comes with a 5MP Camera, a 1350 mAh battery and an expandable memory upto 32GB. The Samsung GALAXY Fit is priced at Rs. 11,870/-

Samsung GALAXY POP

With the Samsung GALAXY POP users can unleash the true potential of the Android platform with the speed of 3G. This Smartphone offers great multimedia features for the user -from access to music, camera and more .The 3.5 mm ear jack enhances sound quality while listening to the user’s music library or built in FM radio. Positioned as the affordable 3G smartphone, the Samsung GALAXY POP is priced at Rs. 10290/- .Samsung has also launched Galaxy POP in the CDMA Version , the industry’s first Android based CDMA phone , priced at Rs 10,500/-
With the launch of Nexus S and Galaxy Pro, Samsung’s Android powered Smartphone range now comprises of 10 handsets, priced in the range between Rs.9890/- ~Rs.29,590/-.Samsung’s total Smartphone range comprising of both the bada and Android based Smart phones comprises of 15 models with the price range being Rs 7980/- to Rs.29,590/-.The Samsung Galaxy tab is priced at Rs 27,390/-. “We are looking at notching up a 40% market share in the fast growing Smartphone market in India this year” stated Mr Yadav.
