Extreme Networks develops SDK for ExtremeXOS operating system
Extreme Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXTR) today announced that it is making the InSite Software Developers Kit (SDK) developed for its modular operating system, ExtremeXOS,® freely available for download. Through InSite, Extreme Networks offers XML Application Programming Interface (API) functionality, allowing for third party applications to securely integrate business process with the network infrastructure.
Extreme Networks encourages customers, resellers and partners to download and deploy the SDK to meet and manage various networking demands. InSite, is now freely available at Extreme Networks’ website: https://www.extremenetworks.com/solutions/Insite.aspx
The new SDK benefits Extreme Networks’ technology partners, resellers and customers seeking to extend and enhance their solutions through interactions with the ExtremeXOS® operating system. The SDK enables developers to leverage a comprehensive set of XML API interfaces providing organizations with the ability to develop middleware that can bind together a solution between software applications and network devices.
“InSite is now available for download directly via our community website and we believe that a community approach on distributing the solution will help businesses to solve their challenges,” said Paul Hooper, chief marketing officer for Extreme Networks. “A freely available model providing a shared platform for software development tied to the network can ultimately lead to more refined and sophisticated features.”
InSite powered by the ExtremeXOS® XML APIs allow end users to create Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions that bridge the gap between application and business logic with network configuration and events.
