Everybody dance now! (Online, please)Jun 22nd, 2007 | By Aditya Kuber | Category: Companies
Early this week, I was surprised to see an email invitation to a Dance show in my mailbox. Not that I don’t like to ’shake it’, just that I can’t. And then I was intrigued when I discovered that this was indeed for an online dance mela. Say what? A closer look at the site reveals what they are up to:
- India’s first online dancing game, where the party never stops!
- Fully customizable 3D characters with hundreds of cool outfits, hair styles, make-up and more.
- Dance to the latest Bollywood & International hits, learn the hottest dance moves!
- Extremely easy to play - use the keyboard or actually dance on a special Dance Mela Mat.
Sounds interesting and it should be much more fun that some of the inane games that are normally found online. Of course, the proof of the pudding is in the eating and we get a first bite tomorrow. There is a ‘Closed Beta’ tomorrow to collect feedback and user-inputs and you could get invited for it too. Log on, register and give it a go. We’ve registered and are still waiting for our invite.
Kreeda Games, the creator of Dance Mela, is “India’s first dedicated Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) Operator”. The game they are launching to start with is just one of the many activities they are involved in and a further look at their site reveals a social networking angle as well. Not another one, we hope!
