ASUS – Best Motherboard Brand
ASUS, maker of the world’s best-selling and most award winning motherboards concluded another successful year in India bagging numerous awards and registering record sales figures for their motherboards. The year 2010 was however an exceptionally good year for ASUS in India with the vendor bagging some of the most prestigious awards from media across the nation as well as being chosen the preferred vendor across many channel surveys. The vendor also retained the highest market share for motherboards in India. At the recently concluded VarIndia Star Nite Awards, ASUS was awarded the Best Motherboard Brand for 2010 after an extensive channel survey amongst partners.
Starting with Compuvar’s Magazine’s Most Happening Vendor Award in the Components Segment in March, the brand went on to win IT PriceVar Editor’s Choice award in September. ASUS products were also similarly received with the ASUS Rampage III Extreme motherboard bagging Tech2.com’s coveted Gadget of the Year in the performance segment. The EAH5670/DI/1GD5 graphics card also bagged the Gadget of the Year award in the entry level graphics cards segment. ASUS graphics cards also won Chip Magazine’s Reader’s Choice Awards 2010 with the magazine saying, “Although Asus uses reference design for some of their graphics cards, their custom designs suggest they invest a lot in research. So far we haven’t come across any graphics card that overheated or didn’t perform optimally”.
The company took many initiatives to improve its products and services in 2010 and in the beginning of the year, launched the Reach Us initiative where in partners could directly contact the Country Head for Component Business – Mr. Vinay Shetty to address any grievances or give feedback about products or services. Receiving many a suggestions and acting upon them swiftly, ASUS was able to reach record figures this year and further distance its market lead from other vendors. The company registered a YoY growth rate of 18% in 2010. ASUS also took the market lead in G31 / G41 / MCP68 chipset and saw phenomenal growth in X58 / P55 / 880G / 890 chipset segments. The strong growth can also be attributed to the company’s robust investment and initiatives in the service and product department.
For service enhancement, the company introduced the E.L.I.T.E. Service initiative in July this year with free pick up and drop facility for motherboard RMA in 270 cities and in September expanded its reach to 798 cities. E.L.I.T.E. ensured effective service support for motherboards across the length and breadth of the country by providing free Pick-up and Return facility and was a first in terms of service for motherboards in the country. It also started offering a never before Burnt and Corrosion Warranty on all Motherboards reinforcing confidence and faith in its customers and partners. ASUS also completed 102 partner meets across 60 cities across the country over the year and shared many of its new technological innovations with partners.
On the products front, the ASUS Protect 3.0 designed motherboards based on Xtreme Design, which help to protect the earth, the PC and its users were very well received. Equipped with intelligent anti-radiation shielding, the technology lowers the generation and transmission of harmful radiation by up to 50%—offering the lowest electromagnetic emissions from a motherboard in the industry.

The company is now poised to promote their new line up of P67 and H67 based motherboards in the market. Received very well in a series of technical seminars held across the globe recently, these motherboards include the pioneering Dual Intelligent Processors motherboard design that features two dedicated co-processors for performance and power management, the TurboV Processing Unit (TPU) and Energy Processing Unit (EPU). They also feature next-generation Dual Intelligent Processors 2 with DIGI+ VRM digital power management. The company will soon be unveiling the entire line up which includes motherboards like the top of the line Republic of Gamers series MAXIMUS IV EXTREME motherboard, the TUF series SABERTOOTH P67 and the P8P67 DELUXE and P8P67 PRO motherboards.
