Panasonic announces eco awareness programme “Eco Relay”

Panasonic, the worldwide leader in technology and innovation, have broadened their “Eco awareness programme” by announcing another enthralling initiative, The Eco Relay”.  This fun filled programme entails a contest known as the “Eco Picture Diary contest” that ropes in children worldwide to present their contribution towards the environment in the form of creative pictures, illustrations or photographs. The initiative that made a successful start In September with its execution in 8 schools in Delhi is expected to follow suit in two more schools in Chandigarh.

Eco Picture Diary Contest is an exciting initiative aimed at realising various approaches adopted by students as a part of their contribution towards building a greener tomorrow.  The activity which is a part of their holiday homework is collected from them on October 18th 2010. Further to the collection the entries will be judged by a panel of artists and other talents. The best among the entries will be sent to Japan HQ by November 5th 2010.  The winner will be informed and sent to be a part of the Global Awarding Ceremony held in Tokyo, early December 2010.

Mr. Arjun Balakrishnan says Director Operations and Planning, “As part of our commitment to the “Go Green programme, we have initiated a fun filled activity for children so as to help them realize the importance of the environment and the vitality of their contribution in order to recover the resources that are deteriorating. Through this initiative Panasonic aims at helping the students to gauge their negligence and sensitize them towards building a greener earth for a healthier tomorrow.”
