Motorola releases three new series of Talkabout two-way radios

Today Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) announced three new series of Talkabout® two-way radios. Unveiled as part of the 2010 portfolio of consumer two-way radios, the new MB140R, MC220R and MC225R radios cater to families by combining practical features and compact designs with affordable prices.

“The Motorola TALKABOUT 2010 family series of two-way radios combine reliable two-way communications with affordability, enabling active families to enjoy their daily activities while staying connected and in constant communication with loved ones,” said Marjon De Groot, Business Director for Giant International, a Motorola distribution ally. “The compact radios integrate the best of two-way FRS/GMRS functionality with practical features and sleek new designs, making them a fun and easy-to-use communications tool for everyday life.”

Practical Features for Convenient Communication

With a range of up to 16 miles1 (under optimum conditions), the compact Motorola MC220R and MC225R allow families to maintain clear connections with the convenience and flexibility to fit every lifestyle. Both series feature 22 channels, each with 38 privacy codes which provides users with 836 combinations of communication channels to choose. The radios offer dependable communication in areas not covered by cell phone towers or during emergencies when cell phone communication is overloaded.

Communication is made even smoother with the Motorola exclusive QT (Quiet Talk) function, which eliminates interference from other manufacturers and provides more clear channels. The radios also come equipped with a standard dual drop-in charger, charging adapter and 2 NiMH battery packs for flexible charging options.  Both radios feature sleek new designs and vibrant colors.  The MC220R is available in purple and the MC225R in digital green camouflage pattern.

Personalized Connections Make Staying Connected Fun

With Motorola Talkabout radios, family members can enjoy independence on-the-go while feeling confidently connected, knowing they can communicate with each other without paying hefty roaming fees. Lightweight and durable, the Motorola MB140R two-way radios feature side grips for easy handling — especially nice for smaller hands.

A keypad lock provides extra protection when carrying the radio in a backpack.  With 10 call tones to choose from, consumers can customize their two-way radio to reflect their personal style and even control their volume easily with the 15 level digital volume feature.
