TechWeb launches Mobile Connect, an event for application developers
TechWeb today announced the launch of Mobile Connect, an event for application developers looking to leverage the boom in popularity of mobile devices. Mobile Connect is designed to be the place for mobile developers to untangle the range of opportunities available to them and cultivate the expertise needed to build the mobile applications of the future. Mobile Connect takes place March 10-13, 2009 at Santa Clara Convention Center alongside Software Development Conference and Expo (SD West). More information can be found at https://www.MobileConnectEvent.com.
Through informative Tutorials, Keynotes, Case Studies, Educational Sessions and a dynamic Exhibit Floor, Mobile Connect will educate seasoned mobile application developers and newcomers alike in what’s coming in the next year across the mobile stack and how to make the best choices for their organization.
“Three trends led TechWeb to launch of Mobile Connect,” said David Berlind, Conference Chair, Mobile Connect. “The first is the way in which the growing use of wireless handsets as desktop replacements has placed a new priority on developing for the mobile market. The second is the rapid proliferation of technologies, and the absence of a single event to learn about them. And the third is the myriad mobile platform choices facing developers of mobile consumer and business applications.”
Mobile Connect will focus on a wide-range of topics via select tracks, including Mobile Application Lifecycles, Mobile Development & Technologies, User Experience, Future Trends and the Mobile Web. The event is designed to bring seasoned mobile application developers and those new to the market:
– a comprehensive forum for discovering how best to leverage the
opportunities of the mobile industry;
– access to what’s coming in the next year across the mobile stack;
– a connection with other mobile application developers;
– the information necessary to select the most appropriate technologies
and mobile partners; and
– the ability to apply existing development skills to the mobile market.
“Mobile Connect is the one place where developers can expand their skills and make the tough decisions about which mobile platforms and services to use in the deployment of their future applications,” said Greg Kerwin, Vice President , Global Brand Development, TechWeb.
