Bharti Airtel launches Apple 3G iPhone in India
The much-anticipated Apple 3G iPhone made a midnight debut in Delhi on the night of August 21. Launched by Bharti Airtel, the launch comes just a couple of days after the launch of the Nokia N96. The phone is priced at Rs 31,000 for 8 GB and Rs 36,000 for 16 GB.
Airtel subscribers will be able to purchase the iPhone at its Relationship Centres from August 22. “We are taking a complete 360-degree initiative and our media agency is Rediffusion DYR Delhi. The campaign will break on August 22,” said Sanjay Gupta, CMO, Bharti Airtel.
Sanjay Kapoor, President of Mobile Services at Bharti Airtel, remarked, “iPhone has been the iconic technology revelation of this year. Introducing iPhone 3G to India further underscores our commitment to enrich the communication experience of all Airtel users. Airtel is offering data of 5MB free, M-Check and Airtel Live experience.”
The phone has been launched in six cities on the midnight of August 21 – Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad. It will be available in 65 more cities from August 22 onwards.
